10. HOW TO BE LIKE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
As Christians we should always strive to be like Christ. In the book of Matthew we find a wonderful picture of what it is to be like Christ. I also want to encourage you to look up each of these Scriptures and meditate on them.
Those who are like Christ are…
Matthew 5:
1. Poor in spirit (vs. 3).
2. They mourn and are comforted (vs. 4).
3. Meek (vs. 5).
4. They hunger and thirst for righteousness (vs. 6).
5. Merciful (vs. 7).
6. Pure in heart (vs. 8).
7. Peacemakers (vs. 9).
8. Persecuted for righteousness sake (vs. 10).
9. Men will revile you and persecute you (vs. 11).
10. The salt of the earth (vs. 13).
11. The light of the world (vs. 14).
12. Do not break the law (vs. 19).
13. Murder not (vs. 21).
14. No adultery – Do not look at a woman to lust after her. This is adultery (vs. 27).
15. Divorce is not justified except for the cause of marital unfaithfulness and abuse (vs. 31).
16. Oaths – Do not swear at all (vs. 33-37).
17. Turn the other cheek – No retaliation (vs. 39).
18. Give away your cloak (vs. 40).
19. Give to them that ask (vs. 42).
20. Love your enemies (vs. 44).
21. Pray for those who use you (vs. 44).
22. Strive to be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect (vs. 48).
Matthew 6:
1. Do not give to be seen by men (vs. 1-4).
2. Do not pray to be seen by men (vs. 5-13).
3. Do not fast to be seen by men (vs. 16-18).
Matthew 7:
1. Do not judge (vs.1-5).
2. Ask, seek and knock (vs. 7-11).
3. Do to others as you would have done to you (vs. 12).
4. The narrow way leads to life (vs. 13-14).
5. Do the will of God (which is the Word of God) (vs. 21-27).
